The JC Ineos Insight arrived at the Grangemouth site, near Edinburgh, carrying 27,000 cubic metres of ethane gas from the Marcellus shale play in western Pennsylvania.
The vessel is one of a planned fleet of eight so-called Dragon-class units that Ineos will use to transport US shale gas to Europe.
This delivery follows the one made last month to Rafnes in Norway.
