The South Korean company and its joint venture partner Technip have a master agreement with Shell signed in 2009 for the design, construction and installation of multiple FLNG vessels over a period of up to 15 years.
Samsung and Technip are currently building Shell's Prelude FLNG vessel.
According to Korean media reports, Samsung said in an announcement to the Korean Stock Exchange that the latest order for three vessels is subject to Shell issuing a Notice to Proceed.
