The Dallas-based company posted a net profit of $120.4 million, up 12% from last year, while quarterly sales were up almost 5% to $1.24 billion.

Bookings grew $1.3% to $1.23 billion, with Flowserve noting larger project opportunities on the horizon.

In addition, operating income rose by 11.3% to $183.5 million.

Flowserve chief executive Mark Blinn attributed the company’s results to recently-implemented initiatives.

“Disciplined bookings, increasing sales, improving margins and enhanced capital structure efficiency are the formula for our strong (earnings-per-share) improvement,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
