Net profit for the six months to the end of June was 112.35 billion Russian roubles ($1.75 billion), a rise of 28.3% on the 87.6 billion roubles taken a year earlier.
Revenues were, however, down 1.4% from 814.51 billion roubles to 803.26 billion roubles as the price of oil and oil products slumped internationally.
A 20.5% rise in production to 282.06 million barrels of oil equivalent was due to the start up of exports at Badra in Iraq, higher flows from the Prirazlomnoye field in the Pechora Sea, consolidation of NorthGas and continued strong performance from SeverEnergia.
