Hopkins was chief executive of the oil sands-focused explorer, which filed for US bankruptcy protection in February, from 2006 to 2010 and its president from2006 to 2008.
A 30-year industry veteran, the Calgary-based boss retains a“major shareholding” of the New York-listed outfit after his resignation fromthe board of directors on Thursday, chairman Ron Blakely said.
