Under the 31 phase of the so-called Car Wash operation, police are investigating "corruption and money laundering allegations" involving Petrobras's research centre in Rio de Janeiro and "several other companies" that are said to have paid 39 million reais($12 million)in bribes in exchange for "advantages".
In total, investigators served 22 search warrants, one preventive arrest warrant, four warrants for temporary detention and seven coercive detentions, when a person is brought in for questioning but is not arrested.
