Greg Williams, a former crew member aboard the ill-fated semi-submersible, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $75,000 to get the documentary made.
His company, Contechnix, which Williams founded in 2014, has contracted Henderson Enterprises to help produce the film, to be titled Our Horizon.
According to a release, the film will feature five of Deepwater Horizon's 115 surviving crew members.
