Speaking exclusively to Upstream on the eve of the WGC 2015 conference in Paris, he adds that China and the US have both taken a “clear position” to reduce their coal consumption and utilise more gas for power generation, but for different reasons.
“The US because of the lower price of shale gas and in China because of the contamination and air pollution in the main big cities,” says Ferrier.
