The proposed new train would add another 5 million tonnes per annum of capacity to the existing two-train facility - Russia’s sole LNG plant - at Prigorodnoye on Sakhalin island in the Russian far east to boost by 50% its current capacity of 10 million tpa, Reuters reported.

Plant operator Gazprom, together with partners Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell and Japanese players Mitsui and Mitsubishi, are now looking at potential sources of supply to feed the expanded facility.
