The gas monopoly made the gas and condensate find on the Kirinskoye field, part of the Sakhalin-3 project, near to Sakhalin Island and the Sakhalin liquefied natural gas plant.
Gazprom gave no indication of the size or exact location of the find, but said in a statement issued in Russian - and later issued in English - that it was made during drilling of exploration and appraisal wells in the Yuzhno-Lunskaya structure.
