The field is located 340 kilometres north of Novy Urengoy in the Taz district, Yamal-Nenets autonomous area. The nearest population centre– the Tazovsky village– is 150 kilometres away from the project.
Vostochno-Messoyakhskoye is expected to reach peak production in 2020 with 5.6 million tonnes (41.16 million barrels) of oil.
To date, the investments in its development reached 85 billion roubles ($1.33 billion).
