Well 35/9-9 will be drilled by the semi-submersible Transocean Barents in about 360 metres of water, about eight kilometres north of the Gjoa field in the Norwegian North Sea.
It will be the 10th probe to be drilled in production licence 153, which GDF operates with a 30% interest. Other partners in the block include Petoro (30%), Wintershall (15%), Shell (12%), RWE (8%) and Statoil (5%).
