GDF Suez finds oil with Dalziel probe

The Paris-headquartered energy company’s Aberdeen-based upstream arm GDF Suez E&P said it made the find with the 22/16-6 well in the central North Sea.

The probe drilled by the jack-up Transocean Galaxy II flowed at rates in excess of 8000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, GDF Suez said.

The well is now being side-tracked to appraise the extent of the find.
