The 4 million tonnes per year-capacity train will help bring the facility to its targeted total export capability of 12 million tonnes of LNG per year.

Cameron had previously announced the signing of two commercial development agreements with Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsui for the development of trains with a combined export capacity of 8 million tonnes per year.

President of Sempra’s LNG division, Octavio Simoes, said the agreement would help the company move on to construction of the project, set to start in late 2013 with operations starting in late 2016.
