The company will cut around 269 engineering, manufacturing and sales/service jobs at the GE-Dresser facility in Pineville, Louisiana beginning in September, the company said in a letter to the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The lay-offs are expected to take place through December.
The cuts are associated with the closure of the plant, which assembles valves for the oil and gas industry. The company announced in January 2015 it would transfer its valve manufacturing operations from Louisiana to a site in Jacksonville, Florida.
