The vessel has been awarded a three-month contract, with an option for additional month, with an unnamed engineering, procurement and construction contractor working for a Middle East-North Africa-based national oil company.
The self-elevating support vessel (SESV) will start the contract next month, with GMS not giving a contract value and saying only that the day rate was “in line with those previously indicated for the region”.
"GMS Scirocco is our fourth new build SESV to be completed since Q3 2014 and we are very pleased that this latest addition to the fleet, like those before it, will proceed directly to its first charter following delivery,” GMS chief executive Duncan Anderson said.
