Australia-listed Skyland Petroleum, which holds a 20% interest in the Block XIG production sharing contract, revealed Thursday testing of the Kumisi-2 well had resulted in gas flow with good pressure from the Lower Eocene interval.
While no precise flow rate from the well could be measured, Skyland said the presence of gas had significantly de-risked the prospect.
“Although further work will be required to establish the full potential, given the location of the well and adjacent infrastructure, any commercial development of gas within the licence area should be relatively simple,” Skyland chief operating officer Mark Sarssam said.
