New York-listed Golar LNG and Belgium’s Exmar have embarked on competitive engineering studies centred on a large floating liquefied natural gas vessel for Noble Energy’s Leviathan field off Israel.

According to Tel Aviv-listed asset partner Delek Drilling, separate interim agreements were signed with Golar and Exmar on Monday.

The Golar deal, said Delek, covers an assessment of the compatibility of a generic front-end engineering and design study the company has previously undertaken as it relates to Leviathan, as well as detailed engineering.
