GPK revealed Monday the Shewashan-1 sidetrack was drilled and recompleted as a horizontal producing well in the Qamchuga formation and was currently producing at roughly 500 to 700 barrels per day of oil.
It said that further stimulation could be needed to reach expected pre-drill production estimates based upon the original Shewashan-1 vertical well.
GPK said it could also consider horizontal sidetrack wells in the vertical bore to further improve the well’s productive capacity.
