Greenpeace activist on board a BP-chartered rig in the North Sea are fighting police action after an injunction against the protest was served.

In a statement on Thursday, Greenpeace said Police Scotland officers are to begin attempts to remove activists occupying the Transocean-owned semi-submersible Paul B Loyd Jr.

Activists boarded the semisub on Sunday evening in Cromarty Firth, north of Inverness, Scotland. Three protesters scaled the drilling rig to unfurl a banner declaring a "Climate Emergency", in an attempt to stop the platform reaching BP’s Vorlich oilfield.
