UK-listed Gulf Marine Services has sealed a contract for the charter of a self-elevating support vessel to an unnamed client in Europe.

Gulf Marine signed a letter of intent for the 18-month contract, including options, in August and confirmed Tuesday that legal documentation for the charter of the large class vessel had been completed.

“GMS is very well-positioned to capitalise on our clients' desire for less expensive and yet more capable offshore support solutions as our self-propelled vessels are significantly more economical and time-efficient than conventional support vessels without self-propulsion,” Gulf Marine chief executive Duncan Anderson said.
