The designer has unveiled two versions of a new design, OCEAN-HE, which are set to target the mid-water and deep-water segments.
GustoMSC said the designs are “driven by the increasing requirements for harsh environment” – although actual demand for harsh environment drilling is, like virtually all segments of the drilling space, down on the depressed oil market.
The hull shape of the semisub is designed “for low motion characteristics and optimum station keeping capabilities,” the company said.
