Oilfield services giant Halliburton and Brazil's state-run Petrobras have signed a technology pact for several projects targeting complex reservoirs such as deep-water pre-salt and mature fields.
The multi-year co-operation agreement will facilitate the development of "innovative solutions" in geophysics, drilling and completions, reservoir characterisation, well testing, flow assurance and production.
Halliburton said the project portfolio will focus on three main challenges: reducing well construction investment, long-term reservoir monitoring and increasing well productivity.
