The mobile offshore drilling unit is scheduled to be dry docked at Harland & Wolff’s main building dock in Belfast from November for about 50 days.
Dolphin said the upgrade work, repairs and renewals to be undertaken were ahead of the semisub’s class renewal survey.
The rig last underwent a major deep-water upgrade by Harland & Wolff in 2006 to 2008. At the time, the company designed and built 130-man accommodation blocks, a power generation module, mud room and additional buoyancy for the conversion.
