Net income was $65.7 million for the first quarter of 2012, compared to $25.9 million in the first quarter of 2011 and $16.7 million in 2011’s December quarter.
Revenues increased to $407.9 million from $291.6 million last year, with revenues from contracting alone up to $229.8 million from 2011’s $122.7 million.
In its announcement, Helix said increased usage of its Caesar pipelay vessel was the cause of the contracting profits rise, while well intervention revenues rose as revenues deferred in December 2011 for moving vessel the Well Enhancer to West Africa were realised.
