The Dutch contractor said Hyundai Heavy Industries had hired it for the engineering, design and construction of living quarters for the $9.4 billion development, which got governmental approval earlier this month.

The South Korean company is building the world’s largest spar platform to serve the development, which is due on stream in 2017.

The five-storey, 2600-tonne steel living quarters will be built to accommodate 108 workers, with facilities such as a galley, recreational area, medical room, control room and heli deck.
