Norway’s Hoegh LNG has signed contracts with South Korean yards Samsung Heavy Industries and Hyundai Heavy Industries for the construction of floating storage and regasification units.

The company revealed Wednesday it had signed one firm shipbuilding contract with Samsung, along with three optional FSRUs, while it also signed a new shipbuilding contract with Hyundai for one unit.

The units from Samsung will each have a 170,000 cubic metre storage capacity and a regasification capacity of 750 million cubic feet per day.
