Australia-listed partner Carnarvon Petroleum said on Friday that a drilling rig was on site and undergoing completion and inspection, with the spudding of well WBEXT-2BST2 due to begin in the “next few days”.
WBEXT-2BST2 is a sidetrack appraisal well that lies updip from the existing oil production well WBEXT-2C in the L44/43 concession. Its primary objective is to test the productive igneous V2 reservoir, which is estimated to be 50 metres thick at the target location.
