The probe is located 9.2 kilometres north-west of the Elevala-2 appraisal well in Block PRL 21, containing the Elevala and Ketu gas and condensate fields.

It is being drilled by the Parker Rig 226 and is expected to take about 45 days to reach a planned total depth of 3213 metres.

Horizon said if successful, the Tingu prospect has the potential to be about the same size as the Elevala field, which has a best-estimate contingent resource of approximately 400 billion cubic feet of gas and 22 million barrels of condensate.
