The Japanese operator of the LNG project is facing a 10% hike in overall development costs, previously put at US$34 billion.
Inpex had been aiming for start-up of the project off the north-west coast by the end of 2016. Recently it was said to be behind schedule with the development but was still hopeful of making up time and executing start-up by the end of next year.
