The government expects to see bids from companies including Shell subsidiary BG Group and UK supermajor BP, which are already active in the market, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told reporters in Houston on Thursday.
The ministry is also in talks with French supermajor Total, he added.
Pradhan was visiting the Texas oil capital to promote the bid round, which offers 67 fields under 46 contract areas, with a mix of onshore and offshore blocks.
