Indian Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the ministries involved have reached an agreement and an announcement will be made soon.

“There is now an in-principle agreement over the issue of gas price premium between the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and the Ministry of Finance. It is resolved and it will come any day,” Pradhan said. Based on suggestions made by Indian upstream regulator Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, the government will allow companies to sell a fixed percentage of gas from future fields at a market price, while the balance would be sold at government approved prices, industry sources claimed.
