“There is required to be balancing between investment objectives and development objectives,” said Amien.
“Some projects have not balanced, [they’re] more focused on investment objectives, the result is that the projects got difficulties, obstacles from local people, from the political side.”
The majority of field developments and proposed developments in Indonesia are gas – there are only three oil projects – and many of these gas resources are in the more remote east of the archipelago.
