“I suspect they are probably talking ... They (Inpex) found more reserves, so they could put in a larger unit if that’s allowed,” said Tony Regan, principal consultant at Singapore-based consultancy Tri-Zen.

“That would also click much better with Shell’s design for FLNG, perhaps 3.5 million to 4 million tonnes (per annum).”

Shell operates the Prelude FLNG project – the first such development to take the final investment decision – and is also a partner in Abadi.

Inpex’s
