The pair signed a deal on Tuesday with Indonesia’s Energi Mega Persada to acquire its 10% stake in the offshore Masela Block, where the project is located in the Arafura Sea.
Under the agreement, the 10% interest will be split between the two remaining partners. As a result, Inpex will increase its operating stake from 60% to 65% interest while Shell will now hold a 35% interest.
