Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh confirmed earlier reports that he is due on Wednesday to meet with counterparts from fellow Opec members Iraq and Venezuela, with oil price stabilisation on the agenda.
The oil ministers of Saudi Arabia, Russia, Venezuela and Qatar met in Doha on Tuesday and agreed to freeze output at January levels, but only if other key producing players followed suit.
