Shelling of Sidra, east of the IS stronghold of Sirte, continued on Tuesday following a deadly assault the previous day that is said to have left seven people dead.
Reuters quoted an unidentified member of the petroleum guards that are defending Sidra as saying that IS militants are about 30 or 40 kilometres from the port.
