Platform maintenance player Beerenberg has decided to lay off 250 staff due to overcapacity after recently losing out to rival Bilfinger on a contract to provide insulation, scaffolding and surface treatment services at ConocoPhillips’ Ekofisk field, news site Offshore.no reported.
The latest workforce cuts will affect administration and project personnel, and are due to be carried out by year-end, though the company has not ruled out further downsizing next year.
