The Austin, Texas-based outfit has secured around 18,000 net acres in Canadian, Grady and McClain counties, Oklahoma.
The acreage is prospective for the so-called Stack and Scoop unconventional plays in the US state. About 70% of it is operated.
In a securities filing, Jones identified the seller as Scoop Energy Company, LLC, which was one of the "platform companies" of the late Aubrey McClendon's American Energy Partners (AEP).
