The Canadian player is targeting the Basal Ghazij sand and Sui Main limestone formations of Eocene age on its 82.72-square-kilometre Sara lease.
The new well will be drilled to a total depth of 1075 metres, Jura said.
Jura is the operator of the Sara lease with a 60% working interest, together with Pakistan’s Oil & Gas Development Company (40%).
According to Jura, Sara – and its neighbouring Suri development and production lease – has proven, probable and possible reserves of around 15 billion cubic feet of gas.
