The APLNG joint venture revealed Thursday the Fukurokuju LNG carrier, which was specifically built to fulfil Kansai Electric’s contract with APLNG, left Curtis Island on Wednesday afternoon.

Kansai Electric signed a sales and purchase agreement with the APLNG partners in 2012 for 1 million tonnes of LNG per annum over a 20-year period.

“The departure of Kansai Electric’s first cargo under the SPA represents another significant milestone in Australia Pacific LNG’s history and highlights the strong partnership between our two companies,” APLNG chief executive Page Maxson added.

“It
