The two contracts, which have been valued at $42 million, were awarded to KCA’s rig design engineering specialist RDS by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.
The first contract, which will run for 29 months, is for detail design and follow-on engineering for Statoil’s Mariner platform drilling facilities.
The second contract is for nine months and involves front-end engineering design work on the Bressay platform, which is also operated by Statoil.
