The oilfield in the southern Bohai Sea is currently producing around 6540 barrels of oil from a total of six wells, the Hong Kong-listed division of China National Offshore Oil Corporation said.
As well as using existing infrastructure on the Kenli 10-1 field, Kenli 10-4 involved the development of a single wellhead platform.
Peak production of 9600 bpd is expected to be reached some time this year.
