The SSAU 5000NG-design Floatel Triumph is already contracted for work with Chevron at the US supermajor’s Wheatstone field off Western Australia, where it is expected to arrive on location in mid-October.
After completing its contract with Chevron, the unit will head to the Inpex-operated Ichthys gas and condensate field, also off Western Australia, for another contract.
“Despite the low oil price environment, Floatel was able to secure charters for Floatel Triumph and this is a strong indication of the market’s preference for the reliable and superior performance that Keppel-designed rigs bring,” Keppel managing director Chris Ong said.
