It is the second round of layoffs for the company so far this year. In March, Kimray laid off 65 employees.
The latest round of cuts is expected to be finalised by the end of this week, the company said. All but two of the 120 layoffs will affect workers in Oklahoma City.
"Like many businesses in the energy industry, we have to make very difficult decisions," said chief executive Thomas Hill.
