The letter of award confirmed earlier reports by Upstream KKB was the favourite to pick up the contract ahead of other bidders which were believed to include SapuraKencana and Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering.

KKB said work on the platform, which is still subject to the award of a formal contract, was scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2017.

The work will see a 3000 tonne wellhead platform and associated pipelines installed and linked to the field’s existing infrastructure at the offshore Malaysian field.
