The Dallas-based independent has secured the rate drop on the Atwood Achiever, but will also now hold on to the rig for one year longer than originally planned.
The explorer originally took the unit last year for three years until November 2017 at $595,000 a day, with a gross rate of up to $660,000 inclusive of taxes for work off Morocco.
