The 25/2-18A probe will be drilled by jack-up Maersk Interceptor in Det Norske-operated production licence 442 at the North Sea find, making it the second well to be drilled in the licence.
Langfjellet, with a preliminary resource estimate of between 24 million and 74 million barrels of oil equivalent, has bolstered an existing contingent resource base of up to 170 million boe found at the nearby Frigg Gamma Delta discovery and other prospects - Froy, Lind, Storklakken and Trell – north of Det Norske’s Alvheim field.
