The explorer told the Australian Securities Exchange on Tuesday that following the hydraulic fracture stimulation of a single target zone in well ZJS5, a free gas flow rate of 160,000 cubic feet per day was achieved over eight hours of stable flow.
This initial rate exceeded management’s internal estimate for commercial production of 125,000 cfd, Leyshon said.
It added that analysis of the results so far suggested further flow could be possible from untested potential pay zones.
