The Australia-listed company said on Tuesday that torrential rain had delayed the mobilisation of a drilling rig, which was meant to spud the well in the first or second week of July, by more than two weeks.
"The storms have resulted in the deaths of four people, affected 840,000 others, of which 28,000 have been evacuated," Leyshon stated.
"The Ministry of Civil Affairs has dispatched relief teams to the most affected areas of Shanxi Province."
